The Whitecliff Group Patient Participation Group (PPG) allows patients to take an active role in shaping their local health services.
The Government’s White Paper “Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS” underlines the importance of patients having a collective voice. The Whitecliff Group Practices PPG is a way for the local GPs to understand our local patients needs.
Every PPG is unique, evolving to meet local needs. Most commonly, they work with their practices to offer the patient perspective on the services that are provided. PPGs help to improve communication, encourage patients to take more responsibility for their health and, to provide practical support for others in the community.
A PPG is not the Practice’s complaint system; nor is it a forum to air personal issues or complaints; but neither is it a Doctors’ fan Club! To be valuable, a PPG must have the confidence to challenge the Practice in line with any issue brought forward and should be self organising and patient lead.
The benefits of an effective PPG are felt by the patients, the Practice and the wider community in which it operates.

Virtual Patient Group.
In addition to our Patient Group (which meets face to face) we have a Virtual Patient Group (e-mail group). Becoming a member of our virtual group will mean that you will receive e-mail/postal newsletters and other communications from the surgery to keep you in touch.
So that you can have your say, we will ask the members of this representative group some questions from time to time, such as what you think about our opening times or the quality of the care or service you received. We will contact you via email and keep our surveys succinct so it shouldn’t take too much of your time.
